Ocean Roar
(Blue Eden x Tet. Lavender Blue Baby) (Bewitching Eyes x Tet. Crystal Blue Persuasion) Sev. to Dormant. 5" fl. 28" sc. M 20 buds. The plants of Ocean Roar show good rust resistance. While the cold hardy plants have a great deal of dormancy in them, going fully dormant in most winters, they perform beautifully in North Florida. One of my primary breeding goals with my blue eye lines is to get them on a clear white background. Ocean Roar was an important step in this direction. At the center of the flower is a large, deep green throat. The flowers have a large pattern eye of deep blue violet. The blue violet eye is surrounded by a burgundy mascara edge that streaks inward. The burgundy mascara varies in width, sometimes as a slight border, while forming a wide band at other times. The eye color continues as a wire picotee on the gently ruffled petals. The base color is a clear near white. An important breeder and beautiful flower.
